  • ACLS is offered as a two-part blended learning course and is intended for healthcare providers who respond to cardiovascular emergencies. This course is designed for participants seeking full certification or recertification.

    Part 1

The first part of the course is HeartCode® ACLS Part 1. HeartCode® ACLS is a web-based, self-paced course that uses eSimulation technology to guide participants through the assessment and treatment of patients in virtual healthcare settings. In this environment, participants apply their knowledge through real-time decision-making and skills development. The course provides coaching and debriefing after each simulation to reinforce learning.

Learners complete self-assessments and lessons that include team dynamics, in-hospital patient cases, and megacode scenarios.

Participants will receive online access through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 24–48 hours after registering for the course. Learners will access the course using the assigned key and must complete the online portion prior to attending the in-person skills session.

Participants must print the course completion certificate and bring a copy for admission to Part 2 of the course.

    Part 2

The second part of the course includes hands-on practice and skills testing using a manikin, including a megacode testing session.

This portion of the course will take place in the Simulation Center and is approximately 3.5 hours in length.

Each participant must bring their Part 1 completion certificate to be admitted to Part 2 of the course.
